“Jenseits des American Dream”, unterwegs mit Gangway in Chicago und Detroit

“(…)Die Reportage lebt von der Neugierde auf eine andere Welt. Zugleich von der Hochachtung gegenüber den Menschen, die dort versuchen, etwas zu verändern.(..)” – sagt die Jury.

Respekt an Wiebke Keuneke die sich mit uns auf den Weg gemacht hat um eine Reportage über die Verbesserung der mitunter menschenunwürdigen Verhältnisse in den Gefängnissen der USA zu machen und somit ihren Teil dazu beigetragen hat das Prison Reform in den USA keine Utopie bleiben soll.

Last year, the most amazing Wiebke Keuneke went on tour with a delegation from Gangway in Chicago and Detroit and now her report “Jenseits des American Dream” – about the German and American social workers in the prison system in Chicago and Detroit has been granted an award.
1st prize in the radio category by RIAS BERLIN KOMMISSION

“(…) report draws its energy from the curiosity about another world. At the same time, it is about reverence for the committed people who try to change things there (…)” – says the jury.

Respect to Wiebke Keuneke who came with us to file a report about the improvement of the sometimes inhumane conditions within the prison system in the USA and thus contributed her part to the fact that prison reform should not remain a utopia in the USA.
