The BronxBerlinConnection 2021 is in the books!

Was kann man nach 13 Jahren BronxBerlinConnection noch schreiben über dieses Programm, dass nicht schon geschrieben wurde? Es ist die selbe Idee in der selben Stadt und trotzdem ist es jedesmal ein ganz anderes, großartiges Erlebnis mit ganz individuellen und unterschiedlichen jungen Menschen. Auch in diesem Jahr ist die Gruppe über sich hinaus gewachsen. Sie haben sich mit ihren Peers aus New York vernetzt, neues über amerikanische Geschichte gelernt. Die schönen, wie die Schattenseiten und sie werden, wenn sie ein bisschen Abstand gewonnen und etwas Zeit zum reflektieren hatten, sicherlich auch nochmal anders auf das eigene Leben, in ihrer eigenen Stadt schauen. Sie haben viel gegeben und auf dem Weg begeistert, sicherlich auch mal gestritten aber sie sind gewachsen. Ganz so wie dieses Projekt es ins Auge fast.  Ich bin mit dem A Train auf dem Weg zurück in die Stadt. Meine Kollegin Marie ist gleich, zusammen mit den Jugendlichen, auf 35 Tausend Feet Höhe, in Route zurück nach Europa. Wir alle haben intensive Momente hinter uns und wir alle haben neue Familienmitglieder hinzugewonnen. Statt der vielen Worte können die Bilder der Reise für sich sprechen. Die BronxBerlinConnection 2021 war großartig und trotz aller pandemischen Herausforderungen ein voller Erfolg. We are signing off…The BronxBerlinConnection Delegation 2021!

After 13 years of The BronxBerlinConnection, what else can be said about this program that hasn’t already been written? It’s the same idea, in the same city and yet every time it’s a completely different, great experience with very individual and different young people. This year the group has also grown above and beyond themselves. They networked with their peers from New York, learned new things about American history, both the good and the bad, and they will certainly look at their own lives in their own city differently, once they have gained a little distance and had time to reflect. They have given a lot and have been enthusiastic on the way, certainly also quarreled sometimes but they have grown. Just like this project has intended them to.  I’m on my way back to the city on the A Train. My colleague Marie is about to be at 35 thousand feet in route back to Europe. We have all had intense moments and we have all gained new family members. Instead of a long, drawn out report, the pictures of this years BronxBerlinConnection 2021 can do the speaking.
