Wie entstehen Freundschaften über Ländergrenzen hinweg? Wie können junge Menschen frühzeitig internationale Erfahrungen sammeln und gleichzeitig ihre kreative Seite entfalten? Mit diesen Fragen beschäftigt sich das Goethe-Institut London im Rahmen seines innovativen Austauschprogramms Exchange2Change – einem einzigartigen Projekt, das Jugendliche aus Deutschland und dem Vereinigten Königreich auf kreative Weise miteinander verbindet.
Das Programm richtet sich an Jugendliche im Alter von 14 bis 17 Jahren, die Lust haben, gemeinsam mit Gleichaltrigen aus einem anderen Land an künstlerischen Projekten zu arbeiten. Dabei stehen nicht nur Kreativität und interkultureller Austausch im Mittelpunkt, sondern auch ein erster Einblick in mögliche berufliche Perspektiven in kreativen Berufsfeldern.
In Workshops zu Themen wie Fotografie, Film, Musik, Theater oder digitalen Medien entwickeln die Teilnehmenden gemeinsam ein Projekt, das sie sowohl virtuell als auch während persönlicher Begegnungen in Berlin und London realisieren. Besonders bemerkenswert: Alle anfallenden Kosten – von der Reise über Unterkunft und Verpflegung bis hin zu den Workshop-Materialien – werden vollständig vom Goethe-Institut London, den Friends of the Goethe-Institut United Kingdom sowie der Bildungsinitiative GIMAGINE übernommen.

How do friendships form across national borders? How can young people gain international experience early on while exploring their creative potential? These are the questions the Goethe-Institut London addresses with its innovative exchange program Exchange2Change – a unique project that connects young people from Germany and the United Kingdom through creativity.
The program is aimed at young people aged 14 to 17 who are eager to work together on artistic projects with peers from another country. The focus is not only on creativity and intercultural exchange, but also on providing an initial insight into potential career paths in the creative industries.
Through workshops on topics such as photography, film, music, theatre, and digital media, participants collaboratively develop a project that is realized both virtually and during in-person meetings in Berlin and London. Particularly noteworthy: all costs – including travel, accommodation, meals, and workshop materials – are fully covered by the Goethe-Institut London, the Friends of the Goethe-Institut United Kingdom, and the educational initiative GIMAGINE.
